This job contributes to Retailors success by supporting the effective delivery of Human Resources programs and services to all employees in assigned area or district within a Territory. This position reports to the GM East and HR Manager and is expected to help develop, execute, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and processes for all regions. They will identify needs and help determine effective Human Resources strategies, programs, and services to address them.
Position Overview:
As an HR Business Partner in the retail sector, you will serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to our HR and retail leadership team. You will be responsible for driving and implementing HR initiatives, policies, and programs that align with our organizational objectives and support the growth and development of our retail workforce. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive employee experience, building strong relationships, and ensuring compliance with HR regulations and best practices.
Key responsibilities:
Responsible for the development and delivery of expert advice in global compliance, compensation and HR analytics.
Knowledgeable in local pay and benefits legislation as well as the economic and political context in the countries of operations and ensure we remain compliant and competitive.
Evaluates and improves control and corporate governance processes through the application of regular and regulated procedures
responsible for ensuring that the organization follows all compliance laws and that the workforce has been fully trained as per the regulation in all regions.
Responsible for ensuring that all internal regulations are met
stay up to date on all general labor law compliance and issues
responsible for ensuring that employees and teams are in place to address compliance issues and communicating to managers and employees about such laws.
Ensures company adheres to global compliance requirements and in-house policies
Advisor to business leaders to ensure smooth execution of compensation and benefits solutions to align with total rewards directions and business goals
Design salary framework, review and improve current total rewards policies and procedures, oversee salary benchmarking exercise, job design and job evaluation analysis
Drive and document compliance with HR policies and processes, and compile data analysis reports, including workforce planning and analysis, as well as regular variance analysis and forecasts
Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of relevant HRIS systems and processes
Perform audits on HR processes and documentation, including hiring, termination of service
Examine and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls & processes
Oversee regional compliance with work council legislation
Oversee privacy, health and safety and payroll compliance aspects
Lead compliance reviews and routine analysis
Support in preparing policies, procedures and handbooks for the various regions
Review internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance
Continuous development of our HR management dashboard as well as our headcount planning tool
Translate and visualize figures to support business understanding, maintain and develop planning and reporting system and databases accordingly
Calculate and monitor regular accruals and provisions
Ensure highest standard of reporting and data quality
Management of the bonus payout process for the whole Group
Keeping the bonus policies up to date
Coordinating HR compliance matters
Assistance in developing compensation models
Optimization of HR and Controlling related processes
Keeping organization charts updated
Works closely together with Group controlling & accounting team
Participate in local and international projects
Develops analysis support tools in Excel and performs extractions for the various departments
Keeps up to date with the latest HR trends and shares them with HR Managers
Partner with retail operations leadership to understand business objectives and translate them into HR strategies and initiatives.
Develop and implement HR policies, programs, and processes specific to the retail sector, considering industry trends and best practices.
Provide guidance and coaching to retail managers on employee relations matters, performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
Collaborate with the recruitment team to ensure effective sourcing, selection, and onboarding of retail talent, including store managers, sales associates, and other retail positions.
Support retail operations in workforce planning, including analyzing staffing needs, identifying skill gaps, and recommending strategies for talent acquisition and retention.
Conduct regular HR analytics and provide insights to retail leadership on employee engagement, turnover, and other key HR metrics.
Advise and support retail managers in implementing fair and consistent HR policies and practices, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
Stay informed about changes in HR legislation and industry trends related to the retail sector and provide guidance to ensure compliance and best practices.
Qualifications:
-4+ years HR controlling, or compliance experiences acquired in an international environment retail industry - preferred
Fluency in English and dutch (written and verbal), French is a Plus
Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist role within the retail sector.
Deep understanding of retail operations, including workforce dynamics, talent management, and HR challenges specific to the industry.
Knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations related to the retail sector.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding solutions that balance business needs and employee satisfaction.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
Proficient in HRIS and other relevant HR technology tools.
Must have knowledge/experience with local /country employment laws/regulations
Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
