About the role
The Plumbing Project Manager plays a pivotal role in the organization's success by accurately identifying, interpreting, and quoting plumbing and hydronics products specified in various project documents. The incumbent collaborates with Outside Sales Reps and Customers to develop solutions, ensuring accurate supply levels and maintaining orders in accordance with job schedules.
With a keen eye for maximizing profitability, the Project Manager engages with vendors, negotiates project pricing, and identifies opportunities for volume buys. Proficient in navigating vendor catalogues, they contribute to creating favorable business conditions for IMS. Beyond these responsibilities, the Project Manager actively supports the meeting of deadlines, understands customer needs, and fosters relationships that position IMS as the preferred choice for plumbing and hydronics materials.
Cores Responsibilities:
Accurately identify and interpret plumbing and hydronics products on a job specification/scope of work/RFQ that are to be quoted by IMS including, but not are not limited to:
Water Closets,
Toilets
Sinks
Lavatories
Urinals
Faucets
Flush Valves
Ground Water Pumps
Domestic Water Heaters (Tank & Tankless)
Drains, Carriers, Interceptors
Domestic Circulators
Accurately enter quotes into Independent’s ERP system to be presented to either the end user or the outside sale representative.
Interacts with Outside Sales Reps and Customers to develop applicable solutions that will respond to their situation and needs.
Partners closely with Outside Sales Reps and Customers to ensure accurate supply levels.
Maintain orders to ensure customers have materials in accordance with their job schedules.
Look for and suggest ways to maximize profit for the Company and provide value to the customer within the acceptable specifications.
Read, understand
and be familiar with relevant vendor catalogues.
Develop relationships with vendors that will create favourable business conditions (greater margin and accurate delivery dates).
Regularly contact vendors to request project pricing (as required) through negotiation, where possible, for improved profitability.
Identifying all such quotes as required for purchasing and working with purchasing to identify opportunities to maximize obtained project pricing and/or identify opportunities for potential volume buys.
Understand, keep track of, and support the meeting of, important deadlines, timeframes, and milestones.
Understand the customer’s
deadlines and work with purchasing to ensure product is available when needed, but not before to reduce unnecessary inventory holding time.
Work collaboratively across departments.
Coordinates and assign work to the Project Coordinators.

Mandatory Requirements
2 years’ experience with and/or knowledge of plumbing & heating products sold by wholesale plumbing distributors.
2 years’ experience working with:
Bid Specification,
P3,
Design Build,
Industrial/Institutional MRO RFQ,
Government MRO RFQ.
Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven fast paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Adobe Acrobat, Order Entry Software and Internet Information Gathering/Research.
Demonstrated analytical, organizational and planning skills.
Excellent Written and oral communication skills.
Established history of demonstrating the ability to pay attention to detail.
Customer centric. Obsessive about providing excellent customer service.
Nice to Have
Experience suggesting and implementing changes to processes and procedures.
