As a Software Development Engineer in the AWS Healthcare AI team, you'll play a crucial role in developing AI-powered healthcare solutions that serve millions globally. You'll be working on transformative products that leverage generative and agentic AI to enhance clinical and administrative workflows for healthcare providers. Your work will directly contribute to improving patient care, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional value to our customers.

Key job responsibilities

Design, develop, deploy, and maintain AWS healthcare services using cloud computing and AI technologies

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, applied scientists, and other engineers to define and execute on our product roadmap

Implement and optimize machine learning models for healthcare applications

Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable, reliable, and efficient cloud services

Ensure high standards of code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration

Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to delivery and maintenance

Drive innovation in solving complex healthcare challenges using advanced technologies

Maintain operational excellence and compliance with healthcare industry standards

Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the rapidly evolving field of healthcare AI

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience

1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience

1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Familiarity with machine learning concepts and their practical applications

Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns

Experience with agile development methodologies

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals, including transformer architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization techniques

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
