Job Summary
The Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and compliant procurement of materials, components, and services. This role plays a key part in supplier management, cost optimization, and supply chain resilience, particularly within a regulated medical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business and production requirements
Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for electronic components, SMT materials, plastics, and indirect materials
Lead supplier negotiation for pricing, contracts, lead time, and payment terms
Ensure supplier compliance with medical device standards (e.g., ISO 13485, GMP requirements)
Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) and implement improvement plans
Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams for NPI and material qualification
Manage cost reduction initiatives and value engineering projects
Handle supplier risk management and dual sourcing strategies
Ensure continuity of supply and resolve supply chain disruptions
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in sourcing / procurement in manufacturing industry
Experience in electronics / EMS / medical device industry is highly preferred
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Familiar with ISO 13485 / regulated manufacturing environment
Experience in component sourcing (electronics, SMT materials, mechanical parts)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cost management skills
Good communication and stakeholder management abilities
Maintain accurate sourcing documentation and reporting
Preferred Skills (Bonus)
Experience in global sourcing / regional supplier management
Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Exposure to Lean / Cost Reduction / VA-VE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering)
Ability to manage multi-country supplier base (Asia region advantage)
Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
