About the role
Job Responsibilities
Assist the Production Manager in managing and overseeing daily production activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Plan, coordinate, and monitor production schedules to meet customer requirements and delivery targets.
Supervise production activities including sheet metal fabrication, cutting, bending, punching, welding, and assembly processes.
Lead and manage production supervisors, technicians, operators, and production workers.
Monitor production output, productivity, manpower utilization, machine capacity, and production efficiency.
Identify production bottlenecks and implement effective solutions to improve workflow and productivity.
Ensure production activities are carried out according to quality standards, work instructions, specifications, and customer requirements.
Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Planning, and Warehouse departments to resolve production issues.
Monitor material usage and minimize production wastage, rejection, rework, and downtime.
Ensure proper implementation of 5S, safety procedures, housekeeping, and continuous improvement activities within the production area.
Investigate production problems and implement corrective and preventive actions where required.
Prepare and monitor production reports, KPIs, downtime, rejection, productivity, and other operational performance indicators.
Support new product introduction, process improvement, and production trial activities.
Coach, train, and develop production personnel to improve technical competency and work performance.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and relevant manufacturing standards.
Perform other production-related duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Management.
Job Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing/production, preferably within sheet metal fabrication or metal manufacturing.
At least 2–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a production environment.
Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, such as cutting, bending, punching, welding, and assembly.
Experience in production planning, manpower management, productivity improvement, and shopfloor management.
Good knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Able to analyze production data and monitor departmental KPIs.
Good leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and handle production-related issues effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is an added advantage.
Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
