About the role
Jewelry Quality Control Specialist Designation: Jewelry Quality Control Specialist Location: BKC, Mumbai, India (On-site)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed quality inspections of fine / demi-fine jewellery to ensure pieces meet Nivoda's quality standards before shipment.
- Make quality pass/fail decisions based on Nivoda's quality standards and accurately document inspection
- Log the outcomes with supporting images and comments.
- Highlight quality related issues with the factory and get them repaired/re-worked on the same day. Ensure corrective actions are completed on the same day.
- Ensure jewellery matches approved CADs, customer specifications, and design requirements.
- Identify recurring quality issues and supplier trends, providing feedback to improve manufacturing quality and reduce repeat defects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to quality standards, inspection processes, and supplier performance.
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers to drive consistent quality and improve overall manufacturing standards.
- Take ownership of the final quality of every jewellery piece, ensuring it meets Nivoda's quality standards, customer specifications, and contributes to an exceptional customer experience.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- 3–5 years of experience in Fine and Demi-Fine Jewellery Quality Control.
- Strong understanding of fine jewellery manufacturing processes from Casting through final polishing and finishing.
- Good knowledge of diamonds, coloured gemstones, precious metals, stone setting techniques, and jewellery craftsmanship.
- Ability to identify manufacturing defects and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Experience working directly with jewellery manufacturers and suppliers.
- Strong attention to detail and a process-oriented approach.
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to prioritise multiple orders in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
- Experience with export quality standards for jewellery.
- Comfortable using internal systems, spreadsheets, and quality documentation tools.
