The EA SPORTS UFC franchise offers the electrifying spectacle and entertainment of MMA for over 20 million players across the globe. It delivers fluid and responsive mixed martial arts through inventive gameplay technology. Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, the EA SPORTS UFC team is on a mission to become the world's greatest fighting game. If you're passionate about building immersive digital entertainment, this is the role of a lifetime. This team works 3 days/week onsite in our Burnaby studio.
As a UI Software Engineer you will work with us to maintain and extend our existing User Interfaces. You will work in multiple scripting languages such as Actionscript and LUA, with some experience in C++. We are a small team that works collaboratively and are looking for help on our next project!
Reports to: Senior Software Engineer
Main Responsibilities
You will maintain existing UI.
You will collaborate with us to implement new features.
You will test, debug, and verify work to ensure performance, stability and quality targets are hit.
Required Technical Experience
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
1-3 years of software engineering experience, preferably in the games industry or in areas where performant user interfaces are used
1+ years of experience in object-oriented design and implementation.
Demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering practices.
Basic knowledge of C++
Comfortable with scripting languages such as Python or LUA.
Additional Skills
Actionscript / Flash.
Experience in Unreal or Unity.
Experience in a Client/Server environment.
Experience in version control tools (Perforce, Git)
Proven track record of - or strong affinity for - integrating emerging AI technologies into development or creative pipelines to drive innovation and efficiency.
Soft Skills
Experience communicating updates in a small diverse team.
Experience writing clean, concise code with comments.
A love of making games that look and play great!

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) $86,600 - $118,600 CAD
Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and other incentive programs.

Compensation
This Software Engineer role pays $87k-$119k/yr. Within typical range for software engineer roles in Canada.
