Trade Finance SME

As a Trade Finance SME, you will support a core banking transformation programme for a client in the Philippines, taking ownership of the Trade Finance product stream and ensuring the target solution meets business and regulatory requirements. You will play a hands-on role across solution design, integration, testing, migration, and go-live activities while working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and product vendors.

What You’ll Do and How You’ll Succeed

MULTIVENDOR, MULTI-COUNTRY TEAM

Analyse and document trade finance requirements across the Letters of Credit (LC), Guarantees, and Collections lifecycle.

Support the design of trade finance integrations with upstream and downstream systems, including General Ledger (GL), payments, lending, and reporting platforms.

Act as the subject matter expert for the Trade Finance product/module throughout requirements analysis, solution design, build, testing, and cutover phases.

Partner directly with product vendors to clarify capabilities, configuration options, constraints, and gaps, and drive decisions for the target system design.

Lead or contribute to workshops with business stakeholders, interface teams, Solution Architecture teams, and platform vendors to gather, validate, and refine requirements.

Prepare and own Interface Specification Documents (ISDs), as well as functional and technical design documentation, and drive review and sign-off processes with relevant teams.

Support solution design for integrations using MQ, REST/SOAP APIs, and file-based interfaces.

Contribute to SIT and UAT planning and execution, resolve integration issues, and coordinate defect remediation with vendors and delivery teams.

Support data mapping, migration validation, and reconciliation activities related to the Trade Finance module.

Contribute to cutover planning and provide hypercare support through go-live.

Manage stakeholders across business, technology, and vendor teams, proactively identifying and escalating risks and issues.

We’d Love to Hear From You If...

Experience

10+ years of overall IT experience, including substantial hands-on experience in core banking transformation and implementation programmes.

Hands-on experience implementing a trade finance platform such as Trade360 or an equivalent solution as part of a core banking transformation.

Proven ability to work as an individual contributor, independently driving solution design, documentation, reviews, and approvals.

Experience preparing and obtaining sign-off for Interface Specification Documents (ISDs) and integration design artefacts.

Technical Expertise

Strong functional knowledge of LC issuance and amendment processes, Guarantees, and Collections lifecycle processing.

Experience defining trade finance integrations with GL, payments, and reporting systems.

Experience supporting integrations through MQ, REST/SOAP APIs, and file-based interfaces.

Ways of Working

Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across business, technology, vendor, and Solution Architecture teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting solution options to senior stakeholders and vendors.
