An exciting opportunity has become available for a Technical Delivery Lead to join our Program Delivery team. This specialist role will support the successful delivery of customer projects by resolving complex technical challenges, coordinating delivery resources and ensuring Cordel’s solutions meet contracted technical requirements.
The Opportunity
As Technical Delivery Lead, you will support the Head of Program Delivery as a specialist technical resource across complex customer projects.
Drawing on your strong understanding of software solutions and technical delivery, you’ll help translate customer requirements into clear technical briefs, manage delivery risks and validate outputs before they are provided to customers.
You’ll also manage a delegated team of Data Control Officers to achieve project milestones and may represent Cordel in technical discussions with customers. Over time, the role may to include responsibility for managing the delivery of existing customer accounts within the APAC region.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technical Lead who enjoys solving challenging delivery problems, coordinating technical teams and working directly with customers to achieve successful project outcomes.
This is a full-time, office-based position located in Newcastle.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Technical Project Delivery
Act as a specialist resource on challenging technical delivery issues across customer projects.
Support the Head of Program Delivery to achieve contracted outputs within agreed timeframes.
Translate customer requirements into clear technical briefs for the delivery team.
Ensure contracted deliverables and milestones are clearly understood, achievable and appropriately resourced.
Validate Cordel’s outputs against defined technical requirements before customer handover.
Undertake and oversee bulk data processing activities.
Monitor delivery progress and proactively identify, manage and escalate technical or project risks.
Support the management of customer expectations throughout the delivery process.
Team Leadership & Resource Management
Manage a delegated team of Data Control Officers to achieve customer deliverables and milestones.
Allocate and coordinate resources based on project requirements and delivery priorities.
Provide technical guidance, direction and support to team members.
Oversee relevant team administration and day-to-day management activities.
Promote collaboration and shared accountability across the delivery team.
Customer & Account Support
Act as Cordel’s customer-facing technical representative when specialist expertise is required.
Support regional Customer Success Leads during external technical discussions.
Develop technical documentation, including scopes of work, in partnership with regional technical leads.
Build a sound understanding of customer expectations, contracted deliverables and technical requirements.
Support the delivery of existing contracted work within the APAC region as required.
Identify and refer potential new commercial opportunities to the appropriate APAC sales representative.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with Program Delivery, Customer Success and regional technical teams to achieve successful customer outcomes.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of delivery processes, documentation and technical practices.
Share technical knowledge and provide and receive advice and assistance from colleagues.
Support Cordel’s commitment to information security and compliance requirements.
About You
You are an experienced and solutions-focused technical professional who enjoys working through complex delivery challenges and helping teams achieve successful customer outcomes.
You can translate technical and customer requirements into clear, practical actions and are comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with team leadership, project coordination and customer engagement.
You must have current working rights in Australia, be able to work full-time in the office in Newcastle, and have the required experience to be considered for this role.
Essential Experience & Skills
Degree qualification in a relevant field.
Previous experience as a Technical Lead or in a similar technical delivery role.
Experience managing contracted deliverables, project milestones and delivery resources.
Ability to translate customer requirements into clear technical briefs and delivery plans.
Ability to produce technical documentation, including scopes of work.
Strong technical problem-solving and output-validation skills.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer literacy, including experience with relevant collaboration, geospatial and artificial intelligence tools.
Ability to collaborate effectively and provide and receive advice and assistance to achieve shared goals.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
Professional, reliable and responsive approach.
Desirable Experience
Qualification in project management, such as a Diploma of Project Management.
Previous experience working within an ISO 27001 framework.
Experience using Google Workspace, Atlassian products and ArcGIS.
Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools such as Claude, Gemini or Microsoft Copilot.
Experience managing technical or data-processing teams.
Experience supporting customer accounts or participating in customer-facing technical discussions.
Experience within the rail, geospatial or infrastructure technology sectors.
