Role Overview
The Senior QA Manager will lead the Quality Assurance function across multiple technology and business initiatives. This role is responsible for establishing QA strategies, driving test automation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing high-performing QA teams to deliver quality at scale across digital, data, cloud, and core banking platforms.
The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Product, Architecture, Risk, Security, and Business stakeholders to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle and support the digital transformation objectives.
Key Responsibilities
QA Leadership Strategy
Develop and execute enterprise-wide QA and testing strategies aligned with business and technology objectives.
Establish quality metrics, standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
Champion a quality-first culture across Agile and DevOps teams.
Team Leadership People Management
Lead, mentor, and develop QA Managers, Test Leads, and QA Engineers.
Define resource planning, capability development, and talent management strategies.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
Support performance management and career progression initiatives.
Test Management Delivery
Oversee test planning, execution, defect management, and release readiness activities.
Ensure effective coverage across:
Functional Testing
Integration Testing
System Testing
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Regression Testing
Performance Testing
Security Testing
Accessibility Testing
Manage quality assurance activities across multiple concurrent programmes and projects.
Automation DevOps
Drive automation-first testing approaches and increase test automation coverage.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Partner with engineering teams to implement shift-left testing practices.
Evaluate and implement modern QA tools and frameworks.
Risk, Security Compliance
Ensure testing practices meet banking regulatory and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Information Security teams.
Support audit requirements and maintain testing governance documentation.
Ensure robust controls around quality, data integrity, and security.
Stakeholder Management
Build strong relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders.
Provide regular reporting on quality metrics, risks, test progress, and release readiness.
Drive decision-making through data-driven insights and quality dashboards.
Present testing strategies and outcomes to executive leadership.
