Introduction

We are seeking a Field Application Engineer (Korea) to support and drive customer engagements within Korea. This is a customer-facing, technical individual contributor role, responsible for enabling design wins by bridging customer requirements with MIPS’ product portfolio, including processor IP, software tools, and custom silicon solutions.

Customer Technical Engagement

Act as the primary technical interface for customers during pre-sales and early development phases

Support customer engineering teams in evaluating and adopting MIPS solutions. Provide hands-on technical guidance on: Processor IP integration, Software toolchains, development environments, and System architecture considerations

Support technical discussions to secure project and design wins for: processor IP licenses, software tools, and custom silicon programs and solutions. Assist customers in transitioning from the evaluation to design execution phase

Solution Enablement Help Customers Understand and Utilize MIPS’ Value Proposition

Broad, industry-leading portfolio of RISC-V processor IP

Open RISC‑V architecture flexibility, multi-threaded, high-performance compute

Functional safety-ready solutions

System-level configurations for optimized performance, power, area, and cost

Technical Problem Solving

Troubleshoot and resolve customer technical issues across hardware and software domains during the pre-sales engagement phase

Work closely with internal engineering teams to address and resolve complex challenges during the pre-sales engagement

Ensure timely resolution of customer issues to maintain positive momentum

Collaboration with Sales & Business Development

Partner with Business Development to support opportunity creation through closure

Provide technical input to evaluations, proposals, RFIs, and customer presentations

Translate customer requirements into actionable feedback for product and engineering teams

Ecosystem & Market Support

Support engagement with ecosystem partners (software, EDA, design services)

Participation in customer workshops, demos, and industry events

Help position MIPS solutions within the broader semiconductor ecosystem in Korea

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's/Master's degree in an engineering discipline or similar

2-5 years in Field Application Engineering, Applications Engineering or Design Engineering

Experience in Semiconductor IP, SoC/ASIC development, or embedded systems, Industrial, A&D or IDM electronics or related markets

Proven track record supporting customer engagements and design wins

Familiarity with: Processor architectures, Embedded software development (compilers, SDKs, OS) and System-level design and integration

Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills

Ability to operate independently in a field-based role

Hands-on technical mindset with strong debugging capability

Ability to bridge technical depth with customer business needs

Fluent in English (Written & Verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with RISC‑V ecosystem or CPU IP integration

Experience with custom silicon or SoC development flows

Understanding of functional safety standards or design requirements in A&D
