Human Resource & Organization Department

The Human Resource & Organization Department champions the people agenda for GIC. We invest in talent and organization development to maximize the potential of our people for long-term sustainable performance. We are organized by strategic HR domains and work in partnership with business groups to manage talent and build impactful teams. Our HR domains are: Talent & Organization Strategies, GIC School, Talent Acquisition, Graduate Recruitment, HR Business Partnership, People Analytics & Solutions, and People Operations & Advisory.

What will you do as an AVP, HR Business Partner?

You will be part of the HR Business Partnering team, responsible for supporting talent programs and initiatives for the departments you cover. This is an individual contributor role that collaborates closely with a senior HR Business Partner to drive the people agenda for the relevant departments. You will be a trusted advisor to department senior management on key talent practices to enable business performance goals. You are expected to be a proactive communicator and change agent, who can successfully balance business objectives, talent priorities and employee needs to create impactful solutions. You will also contribute to talent policy formulation as a thought partner, enabling HR policies and practices that drive higher employee engagement and desired business outcomes.

Partner with Department Directors and Division Heads to drive people agenda and initiatives to enable the ongoing business transformation journey and to meet future business goals.

Promote and execute annual HR processes and initiatives for the relevant departments in partnership with policy teams across talent acquisition, workforce planning, talent management, performance management, rewards and recognition. Serve as the bridge representing the businesses’ needs to the wider HR community.

Work with the GIC School and line managers to foster continuous learning and career development for staff through targeted programs.

Provide insights on employee engagement and culture, leveraging data and feedback from workplace surveys and other formal / informal channels to strengthen collaboration, innovation and motivation across teams within the departments you cover.

Guide line managers on employee relations issues, supporting conflict resolution and grievance management in compliance with labour regulations and market best practices.

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

Results-oriented professional with a business-centric mindset to balance delivery of robust, proactive HR practices with evolving business needs.

Around 6 - 8 years of HR experience ideally gained in multinational companies with fast-paced environments.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to build strong relationships founded on solid trust and mutual respect, and to be effectively influence both business executives and broader HR team.

Exercises good judgment and is resourceful, able to deal effectively with a variety of demanding situations.

Comfortable working with qualitative and quantitative data, has good self-structure, attention to detail and adept at deriving key insights from analyses.

Self-starter who can work independently while being a collaborative team player.
