Position Summary

Lead, develop, and execute large-scale engineering, procurement, & construction (EPC), engineered equipment, and construction services contract project sourcing strategies aligned with business stakeholder priorities. Utilize construction project contract expertise to procure construction EPC/turnkey contracts. Implement strategies to achieve project savings targets. Develop strategies and negotiate commercial terms and contracts with suppliers. Manage risk mitigation and post award contract management plans, including KPIs and supplier reviews to optimize successful project execution. Provide peer-level coaching and guidance support to other sourcing specialists upon request or as directed by manager. With leadership, activity engage in the BU project planning process to ensure timely deployment of category-level strategies and securing necessary lead time to support project directed sourcing activities.

Essential Responsibilities

Execute contracting and procurement strategy/tactics for large-scale capital projects, sourcing for high value, complex goods and services. Develop should cost models and project justifications. Lead the process to define technical bid requirements, specifications, and specialized terms & conditions. Execute bidding events. Lead bid evaluation teams to analyze proposals and award business. Coordinate with Category Management to leverage scale for recurring purchase opportunities and value capture.

Apply expert contract knowledge, diligence, and integration of all contract components to ensure efficient project delivery management. Lead the development, refinement, and application of the project delivery contracting strategy for assigned projects. Ensure contractor training and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.

Develop complex contract negotiation strategies and plans to facilitate negotiation of contracts representing company interests in purchases associated with large-scale capital projects. Analyze, verify, and negotiate modifications, changes, or additional work orders that were not part of the original contract or purchase scope. Resolve disputes and contract adjustments with critical suppliers and internal stakeholders.

With leadership, activity engage in the BU project planning process to ensure timely deployment of category-level strategies and securing necessary lead time to support project directed sourcing activities. Create and manage project plans for sourcing goods and services. Integrate sourcing and business project plans to develop enterprise-wide standardization of technology and equipment specifications. Deepen relationships with stakeholders and communicate sourcing project status. Execute post award contract management plans, including KPI development. Review with suppliers that contractor commitments and progress milestones are tracked in accordance with contractual terms & conditions and full project value is achieved.

Lead post award contract management plans. Manage supplier performance to ensure commitments and progress milestones are met. Collaborate with Category Managers to support project needs in alignment with category strategies. Manage critical supplier relationships.

Develop and lead capital project risk management strategies. Apply expert contract law knowledge to administer project contract agreements and contractual forms. Manage contract risk and assemble documentation to obtain project specific insurance. Limit company liability by ensuring proper documentation.

Provide peer-level coaching and provide guidance to other sourcing professionals aa they develop their contract management skills. Provide expert knowledge industry relevant advice and training to less experienced sourcing professionals through various hands-on and classroom type methods.

The estimated starting salary for the Sr. SC Capital Project Specialist is between $97,600-$138,600.

Minimum Requirements for Sr. SC Capital Project Specialist

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related technical/analytical field.

MBA and Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM) or other supply chain certification strongly preferred.

Requires five years of advanced contracting, sourcing, or logistics experience.

Project management experience required.

Expert contract knowledge, negotiation and project management skills required.

Requires advanced expertise in sourcing and supply chain management principles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and significant experience with purchasing and sourcing systems is required.

Must be results-oriented and customer focused.

Strong interpersonal, relationship, and presentation skills are required.

Up to 20% travel; driver’s license required.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $112,000.00 to $159,400.00 per year
