Location: Home-based with regular visits to Virgin Atlantic’s Headquarters in Crawley and Delta Air Lines’ offices near LHR, plus travel within the UK, Europe, and the USA as required.Reports to: Sales Manager, UK & Ireland – Delta Air Lines
The Senior Sales Account Executive (SAE) supports Joint Venture (JV) commercial performance and partner engagement across the UK market in collaboration with Virgin Atlantic and Air France/KLM, Delta’s JV partners. The role works cross-functionally with Delta, Virgin Atlantic, and partner commercial teams to support revenue growth, market share performance, and customer engagement across the UK Point of Sale.
The position requires strong commercial acumen, analytical capability, and consultative relationship management skills to identify opportunities, support JV initiatives, and enhance Delta’s market presence within the region. The Specialist will work collaboratively with key stakeholders across Delta, and Virgin Atlantic and Air France/KLM to support commercial objectives, improve partner engagement, and contribute toward revenue performance goals.
Success in this role requires the ability to analyze market trends and sales performance, build effective working relationships, and support initiatives that positively impact business performance. Metrics of success include revenue contribution, premium revenue performance, customer engagement, and support of JV commercial priorities.
Primary duties will include:
In collaboration with Virgin Atlantic, support actions to increase high yield revenue and market share within the UK market.
Analyze local market trends, sales performance, competitive activity, and customer insights to identify opportunities and provide commercial recommendations to the business.
Assist with the development and maintenance of performance reporting and market analysis to support commercial decision-making and identify opportunities across Delta-operated routes and JV services.
Support cross-functional initiatives across Delta and Virgin Atlantic that improve commercial performance and strengthen JV cooperation.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with customer accounts, partner stakeholders, and internal commercial teams to support business objectives and partnership growth.
Prepare and deliver presentations, business updates, and commercial insights to partner teams and internal stakeholders.
Liaise with departments at Delta headquarters including Pricing, Revenue Management, Network Planning, Marketing, and Sales Operations to support regional commercial initiatives and solutions.
Facilitate training sessions for partner sales teams and customer accounts on Delta products, policies, and services to strengthen confidence in selling Delta.
Regularly communicate relevant business updates, market intelligence, and product information to support awareness of Delta priorities and initiatives.
Represent Delta at customer, partner, and industry events to support brand visibility and customer engagement within the UK market.
Identify additional commercial opportunities across corporate, agency, and partner sales channels.
Champion B2B and B2C customer feedback by identifying and supporting seam closure opportunities across the JV to improve customer experience.
Support local and regional sales initiatives through collaboration with JV commercial and sales teams.
Participate in specialist or ad hoc commercial projects as required to support territory and regional priorities.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Minimum of three years of airline industry commercial, sales, or analytical experience.
Demonstrated ability to analyze sales performance, identify market opportunities, and support initiatives that improve business results.
Strong interpersonal, influencing, and business communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and organizations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation delivery and stakeholder engagement.
Strong proficiency in data analysis, organization, planning, negotiation, and time management.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced commercial environment.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Familiarity with Salesforce and airline reservations systems preferred.
Ability and willingness to travel extensively within the UK, Europe, and the United States.
Comfortable working with varying levels across internal, partner, and JV organizations.
Fluency in written and spoken English required.
Valid full UK driving license required.

Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
