JOB SUMMARY
The FLEX Director, Data Products – Shop & Book is responsible for the strategy, roadmap, governance, and delivery of Marriott's Shop & Book data product portfolio, including search, shopping, and booking transaction data products. This leader partners closely with Digital, Business Analytics, Commerce, Experimentation, and Global Technology teams to translate business needs into scalable, trusted data products that enable decision-making, performance measurement, and advanced analytics.
As a senior product leader within the D&AI organization, the Director defines product requirements, governs metric and semantic standards, and ensures the quality, availability, and usability of Shop & Book data products across Marriott's digital ecosystem. The role oversees prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and delivery while partnering with technology teams on MDP/Snowflake architecture, data pipelines, and measurement capabilities that support Marriott's digital commerce strategy.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required
8+ years of experience in data product management, data engineering, or analytics leadership, with a focus on digital or 8+ years of experience in data products, analytics product management, digital analytics, data strategy, or related disciplines
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a quantitative, technology, business, data science, engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
Experience owning and delivering digital data products, analytics capabilities, or enterprise data solutions from strategy through implementation
Knowledge of digital analytics platforms, data collection frameworks, and experimentation methodologies
Experience translating business requirements into well-defined data product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Experience partnering with engineering and platform teams on data architecture, data modeling, pipelines, and cloud-based data ecosystems (eg, Snowflake, MDP, Adobe, or equivalent platforms)
Demonstrated experience defining metric standards, business logic, semantic layers, and data governance practices to ensure trusted and consistent KPIs
Experience establishing and monitoring data quality standards, SLAs, and operational health measures for enterprise data products
Strong product prioritization, roadmap management, and backlog management skills
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Own the roadmap and delivery of Shop & Book data products, including search & shopping behavior, and booking transaction data products
Collaborate with Business Analytics and Commerce teams to translate business needs into well-defined data product requirements and acceptance criteria
Collaborate with Digital, Business Analytics, and experimentation teams to instrument new features and A/B tests
Lead Adobe Analytics digital data collection specifications and validation across all Shop & Book properties
Define and govern metric definitions, semantic standards, and business logic to ensure consistent, trusted KPIs across all downstream consumers
Partner with Global Technology on Snowflake/MDP schema design, pipelines, and platform architecture supporting the Shop & Book journey
Establish SLAs, data quality standards, and monitoring to ensure availability and fidelity of Shop & Book data products
Prioritize the backlog and sequence work based on business value, dependencies, and strategic goals
