The Oppotunity

As a Secondary Engineer , you will be delivering and responsible for all Secondary (Control and Protection) engineering activities related to diverse High Voltage Substations and Energy Quality engineering projects across different countries in Europe. Reporting to the Engineering Manager and project team, you will drive excellence - ensuring that Secondary engineering activities are efficiently and cost-effectively executed in accordance with customer expectations, contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.

How You'll Make an Impact

Execute/coordinate all Secondary (Control and Protection) scope and sub-suppliers to secure the integrity, completeness and correct function of the substation system.

Control and LV Cabling (LV cable calculations, interconnection drawings and cable lists)

Auxiliary Services (AC and DC) design

Take responsibility for all substation Control and Protection design, calculation, and documentation (Base design, Detail Design, “As Built”, etc. up to project close-out)

Making technical recommendations in the Control and Protection design, engineering and execution phases of customer projects to ensure all actions are completed according to process requirements and standards, while identifying risks and improvement opportunities.

Supporting the Project Team with claims related to changes in the project Control and Protection scope, including assessing cost and time impacts, as well as risk quantifications.

Assist in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects (protection and measuring equipment technical specifications, cabling estimates and validation of equipment etc.) for Sales support.

Creating and delivering the Control and Protection scope-specific work planning, resource requirements, proposals, engineering estimates, and risk and opportunity analysis.

Resolving complex technical issues both remotely and on domestic and international customer sites (occasional travels, both national/international).

Provide technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities.

Maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction by providing continued dialogue and excellent service at all stages of the project.

Collaborating and networking with engineering colleagues, sharing best practice across different projects and disciplines, developing your leadership, coordination and communication skills with the support of the local and international teams.

Your background

A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar field.

Broad knowledge in substation Control and Protection engineering auxiliary services.

Expertise in design/drafting using Autocad.

Experience in engineering department or site works, working as Secondary / Control and Protection engineer in high voltage substations.

Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.

A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies.

A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with strong communication skills to quickly resolve project related activities and issues.

The following will be considered positively:

Knowledge of electrical design software (EPLAN, E3).

Knowledge of control systems, SCADA and programming.

Knowledge of Power Systems, Grid Studies, Renewable Energy and Transmission Systems.

Experience of commissioning and testing of control and protection panels.
