Our Team is growing! We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer!
The Technical Sales Engineer is primarily responsible for building and maintaining long-term relationships with new and existing clients. This role includes managing customer accounts, identifying sales opportunities, preparing and responding to RFQ’s, negotiating contracts and supporting the design team. A solid understanding of automation systems, check fixtures, and tooling in the automotive, nuclear, defence and medical industries is essential.
Responsibilities:
Technical Sales & Business Development: Generate and qualify leads, source client referrals, build strong customer relationships through follow-up and exceptional service, identify new business opportunities, and act as primary contact for during the sales and quotation process
Negotiation and Contracts: Negotiate deals, review and support RFQs, draft sales contracts tailored to client requirements, determine appropriate materials and processes, identify project risks and potential costs
Quality Assurance: Ensure quality products and service delivery by presenting concise and accurate information during kick-off meetings
Customer Support: assist with change requests, additional quotations, scope development and project reviews
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel is required to customer sites, tradeshows and other industry events, therefor all travel documents (licence, passport, etc.) must remain current
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Previous experience in technical sales, applications engineering, estimating, project engineering, automation, tooling, or custom manufacturing
Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
Experience with custom automation, assembly equipment, fixtures, tooling, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical systems
Strong understanding of mechanical and manufacturing principles
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Effective organizational and communication skills, especially in a team environment, to convey information in a concise manner and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to interpret production drawings, BOMs, and manage multiple projects and jobs
Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar is an asset
Proficiency with MS Project, MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills
