What you'll do

You will play a crucial role in supporting and business partnering with the Argos Imports Logistics team. Your responsibilities will include leading financial planning, reporting, control, and compliance frameworks for Imports accounting processes, providing insightful analysis and commentary to stakeholders, and influencing key business initiatives. You will oversee period end closure processes delivered in collaboration with the dedicated Accenture team, deliver period, quarter, and annual reporting for Imports Operations and FX, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and corporate accounting policies.

Additionally, you will collaborate with the commercial teams to deliver budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans for Imports operations, enabling management to make informed decisions based on accurate performance data. Your role will require strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to simplify complex information for effective communication and decision-making processes.

Who you are

You are a qualified finance professional with a strong ability to present complex information in a simplified manner and provide insightful analysis to stakeholders. Your strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commercial acumen enable you to drive strategic decision-making processes and deliver accurate financial reporting for Imports operations. With a track record of influencing effectively, coaching and team leadership skills, and experience in a large company environment, you play a crucial role in ensuring financial control, compliance, and business performance excellence within the Imports accounting processes.

Essential Criteria

Professionally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) with experience in a large similar sized organisation; retail is desirable

Demonstrable experience in managing corporate accounting processes including period end closure, balance sheet reconciliation and establishing and maintaining corporate controls

Demonstrable business partnering experience within a Commercial Finance role; strong commercial acumen with a focus on driving excellent financial and commercial performance

Proven ability to analyse and interpret financial data to support operational decision-making

Proven capability to deliver and manage change within a business environment

Ability to communicate and challenge senior stakeholders effectively, adapting to audiences with varying financial and commercial knowledge
