Tell me about this role:

As the Product Management Lead, you will play a critical role in supporting the introduction into service and sustainment of Defence Battle Management System capability. Working within a highly complex Defence environment, you will lead supply and training support streams while coordinating stakeholders across Defence, industry and support agencies to ensure sustainment readiness and operational success.

This is an opportunity to influence the establishment of a new Sustainment Management Unit, providing Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) expertise, governance oversight and product support integration across the Commonwealth enterprise. You will work closely with Defence and industry partners to ensure systems, processes and resources are in place to support ongoing capability delivery.

What will I be doing day to day?

Lead Supply and Training Support governance and assurance activities for program sustainment operations

Provide Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) subject matter expertise to support introduction into service and sustainment activities

Coordinate support system integration activities across Defence organisations, industry partners and key stakeholders

Facilitate governance, reporting and assurance processes to support sustainment readiness and program performance

Support the establishment and ongoing operation of the Sustainment Management Unit

Coordinate Government Furnished Equipment (GFX) sustainment readiness activities

Assist with planning and implementation of support system interfaces for end users, including procedures and operational documentation

Coordinate Logistics Information System administration requirements, including ERP readiness activities

Identify, assess and manage program risks, issues and opportunities while recommending mitigation strategies

Participate in program meetings, integrated project teams and working groups supporting transition to service

What sort of skills do I need?

Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline

Demonstrated experience working in complex acquisition, sustainment or Defence environments

Strong knowledge of Defence Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) or Integrated Product Support (IPS) principles

Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders across government, Defence and industry organisations

Experience managing governance, assurance and reporting activities

Ability to identify risks and develop practical mitigation strategies

NV1 Security Clearance (minimum) and eligibility to access US Export Controlled (ITAR) information
