DESCRIPTION:

Join our collaborative team as a Site Search Operations Specialist, optimizing site search across the company's primary websites to enhance the search experience for various product and content collections, aligning with customer needs and business objectives. In this role, you'll work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for and implement search rules (synonyms, search term redirects, etc.) as well as collaborate with Product Managers, engineering, content creation, marketing, and regional website management to define requirements for site search enhancements. You will understand the search technology and align with the business to ensure products and content are structured for optimal recall. Your responsibilities also include developing best practices for content management, training business partners, and proactively monitoring search data to improve performance.

REQUIREMENTS:

Perform routine analysis of customer search terms and author search rules to improve search relevancy.

Work with the search engineering team to understand how the search engine works; maintain documentation on best practices to inform content creation.

Identify opportunities for technology enhancements and provide requirements to Product and Engineering teams.

Liaise between the site search operations team and business stakeholders, providing training, best practices, and consultation on product and content site search performance.

Collaborate with the Enterprise Knowledge Graph (EKG) team to optimize content for Featured Result Cards (FRCs); proactively manage these insights and socialize with stakeholders.

Develop and own analytics for authored search rules and enhancement projects with business stakeholders.

Create, implement, and enforce search operations best practices and guidelines documentation for colleagues.

Monitor search analytics dashboards, looking for red flags and opportunities for improvements; propose initiatives based on those insights.

Develop process and governance standards to collect critical search performance data and content, as part of existing processes.

Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent years of applicable experience.

Minimum Experience Requirement: 5 years of experience in managing content on a large, complex e-commerce website, preferably in a scientific industry.

Required knowledge or experience:

Knowledge of site search algorithm principles.

Understanding of content management principles such as taxonomy and information architecture.

Proficiency with web analytics platforms, user testing and insights methods, and A/B testing.

Familiarity with data science methodologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing.

Familiarity with Agile ways of team organization and function.

Familiarity with scientific topics and products a plus.
