We are looking for an experienced, collaborative, and adaptable Senior User Experience Designer (individual contributor) to join the Creative Direction team within User Experience Design (UX). This role plays a critical part in shaping Schwab's digital experiences by driving design systems, brand expression, and experiencing modernization initiatives across web and mobile platforms. Success in this role requires a systems thinker who can influence across teams, help establish scalable design solutions, and identify opportunities to elevate the quality, consistency, and distinctiveness of Schwab's digital experiences.

As a Senior UX Designer, you are responsible for:

Create future-state concepts and strategic design visions that help shape the long-term evolution of Schwab's digital ecosystem

Maintain high design standards aligned to channel guidelines and Schwab’s design system while identifying opportunities to modernize and evolve the experience

Consult with product teams and design partners to ensure experiences align with established design principles and contribute to a cohesive client experience

Own delivery of assigned work, proactively addressing challenges and proposing solutions

Design Systems, Brand Expression & Experience Modernization

Contribute to the evolution of Schwab’s Design System and broader digital experience standards

Help define how the Schwab brand is expressed across digital products and platforms

Translate brand strategy into scalable product experiences, interaction models, and visual frameworks

Use Brand Identity expertise to ensure digital experiences consistently reflect Schwab’s visual language, tone, and client experience principles across products and platforms

Establish and influence standards that create consistency while allowing Schwab experiences to feel distinctively Schwab

Explore future experience opportunities, including AI-enabled experiences, conversational interfaces, and emerging interaction models

Partner with cross-functional teams to define scalable approaches for new experience paradigms while maintaining alignment with Schwab design principles

Teamwork, Collaboration & Engagement

Build strong, productive partnerships with peers and cross-functional partners through clear communication, shared understanding, and mutual accountability

Model strong leadership behaviors by setting a clear, accountable example through craft, communication, and follow-through

Act as a trusted advisor to design, product, engineering, and brand partners

Facilitate design reviews, consultations, and workshops that elevate design quality and strengthen alignment across teams

Mentor or support less experienced designers when opportunities arise

Your Approach

Put clients first by making thoughtful design decisions grounded in user needs, business priorities, and long-term value

Set a clear path for your work by articulating direction, tradeoffs, and next steps, especially in ambiguous situations

Demonstrate a challenger mindset by constructively questioning assumptions and exploring better ways forward

Lead through change by adapting quickly, learning continuously, and helping partners navigate evolving requirements
