About the role

Jump Trading Group is committed to world class research. We empower exceptional talents in Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science to seek scientific boundaries, push through them, and apply cutting edge research to global financial markets. Our culture is unique. Constant innovation requires fearlessness, creativity, intellectual honesty, and a relentless competitive streak. We believe in winning together and unlocking unique individual talent by incenting collaboration and mutual respect. At Jump, research outcomes drive more than superior risk adjusted returns. We design, develop, and deploy technologies that change our world, fund start-ups across industries, and partner with leading global research organizations and universities to solve problems.

Jump Trading is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and people-focused Facilities Manager to own the maintenance, operations, and overall performance of our current and future offices in New York City. You will ensure the reliability of essential infrastructure, the day-to-day functionality of the office, and the well-being of our employees as it relates to their workplace experience.

This is a role built on ownership and leadership. You will drive facilities strategy across all locations, lead a team of internal and external professionals, and manage the vendors, contractors, and building staff who keep our offices running seamlessly. You will also play an active part in the design and eventual operation of a new 100,000 sq ft office in a tier one NYC building. We operate our offices for our own people—no clients, no shareholders—simply to make the best possible workday for our fellow coworkers.

What You’ll Do

Own the daily performance, availability, and reliability of all office and critical facility systems—including UPS, BMS/EPMS, backup generators, transfer switches (ATS/STS), and HVAC/cooling equipment (CRAC/CRAH, chillers).

Run preventative and corrective maintenance programs—daily walkthroughs, load tests, inspections, and emergency drills such as generator testing and UPS failover—to prevent downtime and extend asset life.

Act as the primary escalation point for critical events, driving rapid incident response and using maintenance data and system-health trends to continuously improve reliability.

Build, lead, and develop a team of internal and external supervisors, engineers, and technicians—setting goals, coaching for growth, and driving a culture of safety and accountability.

Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning to build bench strength.

Own relationships with building management and vendors—running RFPs, consolidations, and contract negotiations, and holding partners accountable to measurable performance.

Schedule and supervise outsourced maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, capacity expansions, and commissioning, ensuring alignment with approved MOPs, SOPs, and change-management controls.

Provide in-house expertise on office maintenance, renovations, and buildouts, and strategic analysis of any new leases or subleases.

Lead commercial compliance (fire and building code, FDNY, OSHA, current Local Law) and maintain thorough records of assets, maintenance logs, inspections, and operating procedures.

Manage the facilities budget and capex planning, identifying automation and AI-driven efficiencies and developing SOPs that scale across global offices.

Actively participate in the design of the new 100,000 sq ft office to ensure a seamless transition of the facilities program.

Manage and respond to service tickets to prioritize and coordinate responses to staff and completion of work.

Partner across Workplace Services, IT, Security, Operations, and Legal to keep critical trading infrastructure (power, internet, HVAC, backup systems) highly reliable and serve as the primary point of contact for critical facilities issues.

Perform handyman duties as needed (small repairs, painting, simple installations, lifting, onsite presence during installations) and coordinate office moves to preserve continuity of design and operations. What You’ll Bring

10-15+ years of experience in facilities management, building operations, or workplace infrastructure, preferably in an office environment with mission-critical systems.

Direct experience operating a 50,000+ sq ft commercial office in NYC (Class A or B), including HVAC, MEP, life-safety, and base-building coordination.

2–3+ years of management experience leading a high-performing team—setting goals, supporting daily execution, and coaching for growth.

Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, UPS, HVAC/cooling equipment, fire suppression, and transfer switches.

Demonstrated ownership of multi-vendor portfolios and large facilities budgets, with proven experience in vendor management, scheduling, and contract negotiation.

Strong working knowledge of NYC commercial building codes, FDNY/OSHA requirements, current Local Law, and energy-efficiency standards.

Familiarity with building management systems (preferably Schneider EcoStruxure).

Basic knowledge of IT systems supporting trading operations, plus Microsoft Office, Jira, and Confluence.

Ability to remain calm under pressure and troubleshoot systems during emergencies.

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven recommendations, weighing risks, costs, and impact against high-level intent and long-term implications.

Enjoys working autonomously with little direction, remains solution-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments as a naturally curious self-starter.

Ability to communicate with all employees for upcoming work and the possible impact on the office environment.

Reliable and predictable availability, with willingness to stagger shifts, work off-hours and some weekends, and be on-call during emergencies.

Nice to Have

Certification in facilities management (e.g., FMP, CFM, IFMA, OSHA 30, FDNY F-89/T-89/S-95) or equivalent technical training. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.

Experience working in a financial, trading, or similarly fast-paced industry.
