Jump is looking for a Digital Modem Engineer to join our world class wireless team. In this role, you will you will lead the design and development of custom, low-latency modem architectures for our point-to-point wireless networks around the globe.
What You'll Do:
Design, simulate, and realize innovative physical layer wireless communication algorithms for low latency applications
Implement modem/system models and perform detailed performance investigations to allow performance sign-off and enable RTL development
Collaborate with digital designers and firmware developers to realize algorithms with power and area efficient implementation
Skills You’ll Need:
At least 5+ years of experience in the design, build, and deployment of digital modem systems
Deep knowledge and demonstrated experience in digital modem design, including
Transmit and receive pulse shaping digital filter design
Symbol rate throughput, latency, and spectral occupancy analysis and optimization
Carrier/symbol clock offset tracking and recovery
Adaptive equalization using blind, training-based, and decision-directed algorithms
Channel modeling and simulation
Fixed point design, simulation and analysis
Experience with Python, C/C++ and/or Matlab for algorithm development, modeling (floating-point and fixed-point) and link-level simulation
MS/PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Reliable and predictable availability
Bonus Points:
Experience in logic design for wireless modem FPGAs, ASICs or custom data-path components for DSP applications (sequential and arithmetic components)
Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) and microwave components: oscillators, mixers, attenuators, amplifiers, couplers, isolators, Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) layout

Annual Base Salary Range
$150,000 - $250,000 USD
Compensation
