In this role, you will build the data foundations that power critical business decisions across Procurement, Supply Chain and Operations. Working with technologies such as Databricks, SAP Datasphere and Azure, you will design scalable data products that transform complex SAP and non-SAP data into trusted insights, advanced analytics and AI-ready datasets.

What you will be doing
Build scalable data pipelines
Design and develop robust data pipelines integrating SAP and non-SAP systems.
Build and maintain modern data processing solutions using Databricks and cloud technologies.
Enable seamless access to trusted business data across procurement, operations and analytics functions.
Create reusable data products
Design reusable data models covering procurement, vendor, contract, logistics and operational datasets.
Implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) to support scalable analytics and reporting.
Deliver consumption-ready datasets for self-service analytics and decision-making.
Ensure governance, quality and trust
Implement automated data quality checks and monitoring processes.
Maintain data lineage, metadata standards and governance frameworks.
Support secure access controls and data protection standards across analytical environments.
Enable advanced analytics and AI
Develop feature-ready data products that support spend analytics, supplier performance, risk management and AI-driven use cases.
Collaborate with data analysts, business stakeholders and data scientists to create scalable analytical solutions.
Continuously improve data accessibility and usability across the organization.
Partner with business stakeholders
Work closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations and Analytics teams to understand business needs.
Translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Act as a trusted partner and technical advisor in driving data-driven decision making.
Contribute to engineering excellence
Apply modern software engineering practices including Git-based development, CI/CD and automated testing.
Support the evolution of enterprise data platform standards and best practices.
Share knowledge and promote high-quality engineering across teams.
What you need to succeed
4+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Databricks, including Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, and Workflows.
Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data pipelines and data products.
Experience working with SAP data sources and enterprise business applications.
Strong ability to translate business requirements into practical, scalable, and reusable data solutions.
Strong Python (PySpark) and SQL skills for large-scale data transformation, automation, and pipeline development.
Experience with SAP data integration approaches, such as OData, CDS views, BW extraction, or SAP Datasphere.
Hands-on experience with Azure technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage (ADLS Gen2), and Azure DevOps.
Experience building and maintaining API-based integrations using REST and SOAP.
Familiarity with Git-based development workflows, CI/CD practices, and modern software engineering standards.
Experience with data modelling, governance, lineage, and data quality frameworks.
Experience delivering analytical datasets and reporting solutions through Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, or similar platforms.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Informatics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Professional proficiency in English and basic German language skills.

What we consider a plus
Experience working with Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, or Commercial data domains.
Familiarity with SAP ECC or S/4HANA data models, particularly within MM, LO, or related modules.
Experience in federated or decentralized enterprise data environments.
Exposure to AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, or AI-ready data product development.
Experience contributing to engineering standards, governance frameworks, or enterprise data platform strategy.
Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional certification.
SAP Datasphere certification.
Experience supporting self-service analytics and building reusable data products for business users.
