Job Purpose

Standardize & simplify critical business processes with inputs/help from SMEs

Guide/support for enrichment of data so as to have consistency of information

Provide business/ functional inputs to technical teams for (i) delivery of approved processes & (ii) production support

Job Context

To cater to diverse requirements of business functions, we have implemented Planning & Budgeting solutions e.g. Cognos. This is the backbone and will cater to core business P&B exercise in Business. Currently, we have footprint of 600+ Cognos users - spread across 24 manufacturing locations, sales zonal offices. And it is clear that in future too, this user base would continue to grow as business expands and as Cognos comes out with more modules relevant for BI requirement.

The application footprint of the organization has increased and with the expansion of the business, the number of users is also continuously growing. Hence, it is imperative that there be dedicated teams for maintenance of individual applications. As a functional team leader would be accountable for process standardization, identifying and implementing process business improvements, providing overall delivery services for the application, and guidance to team members.

Major Challenges

Taking various stake holders along and agree on common framework of processes definitions and reports (across all plants/zones)

Design solutions for new initiatives (incl. Change Requests) on basis of requirements which are gradually evolving/ changing and still deliver as per SLAs

Continuous support as per SLAs to large user base spread over huge number of remote locations

1. Work out opportunities for data analysis leading to business analytics

Understand business processes, data collected thru same and meaning thereof for business executives

Analyse data – try seeing trends/ exceptions/ outliers

Work with SMEs to identify processes which could improve using external data

Study processes running at similar industries, leading companies

2. Process standardization, drive usage and business KPIs to maximize business value

Identity areas of exploration to articulate problem statements and determining corrective actions along with SMEs / FHs to drive for measured outcomes that are aligned with business KPIs .

Analyse and Drive Business Usage of enrich IT System to increase Data Culture.

Work with SMEs/ FHs to drive standardization of processes, data, controls and reports

3. Provide inputs and solution to improve data quality

Work towards ensuring improved data quality & accuracy in the solutions.

Conduct periodic reviews and provide input towards data cleansing to improve data quality.

4. SLA Management

Ensure that SLAs are maintained

Seek regular updates on incidents logged for respective application (TM1, ODS & BI)

Enhancing usage level by analysing trends of most common issues

Analyzing and Identification of critical / recurring problems by taking corrective steps.

5. People Development & Knowledge sharing

Identifying and execution of end user training needs.

Develop Power Users.

Remain aware and informed of the latest technical and product knowledge as well as trends and competition by Attending relevant seminars and conferences.

Knowledge sharing with Other Business in ABG Group where new / existing Cognos is implemented/maintained.
