As a Senior Biodiversity Consultant within Arup Manila’s Environmental and Social team, you will deliver high-quality biodiversity expertise across a diverse portfolio of complex, high-profile projects. You will play a key role in supporting and leading environmental and social assessments across the Philippines and Southeast Asia, with a strong focus on ecology and biodiversity. Strong biodiversity knowledge and experience across Southeast Asia is essential, together with the ability to provide locally relevant ecological advice across diverse environmental settings.

The Opportunity

Lead biodiversity input for major projects across transport, aviation, renewable energy, and water sectors

Support the delivery and coordination of Environmental and Social projects across the Philippines and Southeast Asia working in alignment with national and international standards

Contribute to business development through proposal writing, bid support, and client engagement

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members while supporting team capability growth

Build and maintain strong client relationships while representing Arup locally and regionally

Is this role right for you?

A relevant degree in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred)

10+ years of experience in ecology, including fieldwork in marine and/or freshwater environments

Strong understanding of Philippine environmental regulations and international E&S safeguards (e.g. IFC, ADB, Equator Principles)

Proven ability to deliver complex projects, manage stakeholders, and communicate technical concepts clearly

A collaborative mindset with strong analytical, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills
