CMG Engineer

Job Description

The Contactor Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for improving the reliability, manufacturability, and sustainability of contactor technologies used in semiconductor test operations. This role leads root cause investigations for chronic manufacturing issues, drives continuous improvement initiatives through data analytics, supports migration and technology transition projects, resolves contacting-related concerns, establishes manufacturing standards, and qualifies replacement solutions for obsolete contactor technologies. The position requires close collaboration with manufacturing, product engineering, equipment engineering, and suppliers to ensure robust, cost-effective, and scalable contactor solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Resolve Chronic Manufacturing Issues

•Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring contactor-related manufacturing issues.

•Develop and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to eliminate systemic issues and improve operational performance.

2. Drive Data-Driven Continuous Improvement

•Analyze manufacturing, yield, and reliability data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

•Lead projects that improve contactor performance, uptime, quality, and cost efficiency.

•Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to support decision-making.

3. Support Manufacturing-Initiated Migration Projects

•Provide technical leadership and engineering support for contactor migration initiatives.

•Evaluate risks, qualify solutions, and ensure smooth transition to new technologies.

•Coordinate with stakeholders to maintain production continuity during migrations.

4. Address Contacting Concerns in Manufacturing

•Investigate and resolve contacting-related issues impacting yield, quality, and test performance.

•Collaborate with hardware, equipment, product, and supplier teams to identify corrective actions.

•Recommend design improvements, component upgrades, and process optimizations.

5. Define Standards for Manufacturability

•Develop and maintain manufacturing standards, specifications, and best practices for contactors.

•Ensure manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability requirements are incorporated into product development.

•Support standardization efforts across manufacturing sites and product platforms.

6. Provide Replacement Technology for Obsolete Contactors

•Identify, evaluate, and qualify alternative contactor technologies for legacy or obsolete solutions.

•Perform technical, reliability, and cost-benefit assessments of replacement options.

•Manage qualification activities and support implementation into production.
