Join us as an "AVP Data Governance" at Barclays, where you will support the Product Office by leading data-driven insight, executive reporting, operational governance and analytical decision support across product delivery, tooling, incident management and governance forums.

The role will work closely with the Chief Data Office to ensure Product Office reporting and analysis reflects data-governance expectations, data-quality considerations, Data and Records-management awareness, enterprise controls and appropriate standards-aligned terminology.

To be successful as an “AVP Data Governance”, you should have experience with:

Proficient on Python and hands on experience with machine learning, NLP, GenAI / LLM-enabled analytics, classification models, anomaly detection, forecasting or clustering.

Dashboarding and MI using Tableau, Power BI, Excel.

Experience working with JIRA, confluence and SharePoint.

Experience working with Alation or any other meta data management tool.

Lead reporting and analytics activities for the Product Office, including portfolio performance, tooling demand, delivery status, backlog movement, incident themes, control metrics and operational KPIs.

Use Python, SQL and advanced analytics techniques to clean, structure, analyse and interpret complex datasets, including operational, incident, Jira, ServiceNow, dashboard and governance data.

Apply data-science methods such as classification, clustering, NLP, anomaly detection or predictive analysis where appropriate to identify recurring themes, systemic issues and improvement opportunities .

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

Understanding of regulatory, audit, risk and control expectations relevant to banking data, analytics, AI and records management

Exposure to data platforms and governance tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, Alation, Collibra, BDP-like data portals, metadata hubs or cloud analytics platforms

Experience supporting data-product lifecycle, product governance, roadmap tracking, release planning or data-product adoption.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as experience with data analytics, as well as job-specific skillsets.

Purpose of the role

To develop, implement, and maintain effective governance frameworks for all data and records across the bank's global operations.

Accountabilities

Development and maintenance of a comprehensive data and records governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Monitoring data quality and records metrics and compliance with standards across the organization.

Identification and addressing of data and records management risks and gaps.

Development and implementation of a records management programme that ensures the proper identification, classification, storage, retention, retrieval and disposal of records.

Development and implementation of a data governance strategy that aligns with the bank's overall data management strategy and business objectives.

Provision of Group wide guidance and training on Data and Records Management standard requirements.
