About the role

As our next Tyre Fitter to proudly represent our Maintenance Team on a 14/7 roster, you will live for challenges and thrive on the variety of work available. Like all of us at Thiess, you’re a passionate and energetic person, that appreciates responsibility, recognition and reward.

Yilgarn Iron Ore Project includes the sites of Koolyanobbing, Windarling and Parker Range. The Yilgarn region has a long history of iron ore mining and is located in the Shires or Yilgarn and Menzies with ore being railed to Esperance Port for export. The productive mining areas are located on the land of the Marlinyu Ghoorlie Native Title Group.

Key duties

Diagnose tyre/rim/wheel conditions as required

Remove and replace rim/wheel to vehicles, remove and replace tyres to rim/wheel as required

Perform regular tyre inflation pressure checks, adjust and report to Supervisor

Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins and computer based systems

Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of equipment non-conformance

Setting and maintaining high housekeeping standards

Carrying out pre-start checks

About you

Certificate II Automotive Tyre Servicing Essential

Minimum of 1 year experience in Mine Site based heavy tyre fitting

Previous open cut mining experience in the maintenance of a heavy earthmoving fleet essential

HR drivers licence required

Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety at all times
