ABOUT THE ROLE:
Thiess are seeking an experienced Auto Electrician for a permanent employment opportunity working at our Olive Downs Complex coal mining project. Reporting into the Maintenance Supervisor, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.
Pembroke Resources’ Olive Downs Complex is an exciting autonomous mine project located 80 km south-east of Moranbah, with mining operations that started mid-2023. Thiess proudly delivers full-service mining operations, including mine planning, overburden removal, drill and blast, autonomous load and haul, water management, rehabilitation, and the construction of mine infrastructure.
Camp is located at Civeo Coppabella, with bus transport provided daily from camp to site. A bus service is also available for locals, making it easy to join our team and be part of this world-class operation.
As an Auto Electrician-
Perform the servicing, repair and maintenance of Light Vehicle Fleet and mobile mining equipment in accordance with Thiess servicing and maintenance procedures
Complete general maintenance, breakdowns, services, and component change outs to a high regard
Conduct required inspections to maximise equipment utilisation
Provide high-quality installations including mountings, wiring and testing of equipment
ABOUT YOU:
Candidates must hold a relevant trade certificate
Post-trade experience working in the mining and heavy earth moving industry, or hydraulic excavator industry essential.
Alignment to our principles: Integrity, Accountability, Innovation & Deliver
Current Standard 11, a current open drivers’ licence and relevant coal mining certifications
Work safely and comply with the Site Safety Health and Management System
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent
Hold LV Rescue (LVR) & CPR Certificate Refrigerated handling license or willing to obtain
Post-trade experience working in the mining and heavy earth moving industry highly regarded
Experience in general service, maintenance, breakdowns, component change outs and proper diagnostics, Computer system JDE, OEM computer-based systems
