About your role:
As a Software Development Engineer, you will design, build, and enhance software for the Finxact Core as a Service platform that supports banking and financial institution services. You will work with business analysts, engineers, and implementation partners to deliver scalable application capabilities, improve software quality, and support cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. Your work helps drive reliable, secure, and effective financial services technology.
What you'll do:
Design, develop, test, and enhance application features for the Finxact Core as a Service platform using modern software engineering practices.
Partner with business analysts, engineers, and system users to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and support implementation outcomes.
Build and support application programming interfaces (APIs) and service integrations using Representational State Transfer (REST) services, Swagger, JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), and Git-based development workflows.
Improve software quality by increasing automated test coverage, resolving defects, and strengthening application reliability and maintainability.
Provide technical guidance to developers by reviewing designs, supporting solution discussions, and promoting financial services software engineering best practices.
Work with external partners to understand implementation approaches and apply knowledge of cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) technologies to solution delivery.
Execute against time-sensitive deliverables by managing multiple development activities, analyzing technical and business information, and adapting to changing priorities.
Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.
Experience you'll need to have:
6+ years of experience in software application design and development within financial services, core banking, loan servicing, deposit operations, card processing, customer relationship management (CRM), or related enterprise platforms.
6+ years of experience developing and integrating APIs and distributed services using RESTful services, Swagger or similar API documentation tools, JSON, and Git.
6+ years of experience analyzing business and technical requirements and translating them into application design, development, and implementation outcomes.
Experience leading technical design discussions, reviewing solution approaches, and guiding other developers without direct people management responsibility.
Experience using artificial intelligence (AI)-driven development practices to improve engineering efficiency, code quality, or delivery outcomes.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
Experience that would be great to have:
Experience developing software for cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms.
Experience working with core banking platforms, including Finxact.
Experience with Golang or a similar object-oriented or service-oriented programming language.
Experience supporting partner implementations in regulated financial services environments.
