About the role
A Snapshot of Your Day
As Head of Sustainability of Siemens Energy, you will lead the next chapter of Sustainability at Siemens Energy: creating measurable business impact while staying committed to our Sustainability agenda. This role is designed to use sustainability to shape Siemens Energy’s strategy and to support its execution to provide the world with reliable, affordable and sustainable energy. Reporting to the SVP of Company Development, you will lead the global Sustainability team, build trusted relationships to executive leadership and across the company as well as in the external Sustainability ecosystem to deliver tangible impact for the business.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Set the strategic direction for Sustainability, aligning priorities with Siemens Energy’s Elevate strategy and North Star
Lead global Sustainability across (regulatory) trend scouting and forecasting, materiality analysis and agenda setting focusing on speed and business impact
Identify and accelerate sustainability-related value creation opportunities across Siemens Energy's portfolio, supporting customer decarbonization and long-term profitable growth
Provide governance on implementation of the Sustainability agenda, regular performance reporting in the Sustainability Council and board-level updates
Steer the company's climate transition agenda, including long-term ambitions, Scope 1–3 decarbonization pathways, and climate resilience actions
Partner with Business Areas to strengthen sustainability-related customer offerings and support efforts on sustainable supply chains, responsible sourcing, and supplier decarbonization in partnership with Procurement
Response to ESG ratings and rankings and other non-regulated disclosures and contribute to regulated non-financial reporting (esp. CSRD)
Build strong partnerships across Siemens Energy to ensure Sustainability is closely connected with Business Areas and Regions
Maintain Siemens Energy’s strong external ESG-positioning, esp. with investors and represent Siemens Energy with policymakers, industry initiatives, NGOs or other stakeholders
Continue building a high-performing, globally connected Sustainability team with clear priorities, strong accountability, and a culture of collaboration, learning, and ownership
What You Bring
Experience in combination of strategic business leadership, Sustainability acumen, corporate development expertise and execution discipline needed to define and drive the global Sustainability agenda of Siemens Energy to create measurable business impact
Experience in combine thought leadership and senior stakeholder influence with hands-on project execution experience and commercial judgment
Longstanding experience of relevant exposure to the energy industry, with deep expertise in at least one of the following fields: corporate sustainability, corporate development/strategy or innovation
Long experience in defining corporate sustainability agendas along with business needs and upcoming (regulatory) requirements in an environment with heterogeneous exposure to ESG
Ability to operate in collaboration with Business Areas and regions while maintaining the governance role of corporate sustainability
Experience in resolving conflicts through negotiation and efficient compromising in an international environment
Strong understanding of the energy landscape, industrial decarbonization, climate action and adaptation and the role of innovation to accelerate transformation
Excellent strategic judgment, commercial acumen, and diligence capability across both qualitative and quantitative dimensions
Experience working with senior executives, boards, business areas, customers, investors and external stakeholders
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach teams, build trust, raise standards, and create clarity in ambiguous environments

Siemens Energy Sustainability plays a critical role in creating business value through embedding the sustainability agenda into company strategy and improving the resilience of Siemens Energy’s business by managing ESG risks. Sustainability is positioned within Company Development to ensure direct integration into Siemens Energy's strategy, portfolio development, innovation agenda and long-term value creation. As leader of the function, you are expected to lead this highly ambitious, high-performing team and take it to the next level.
