Job Summary

The Manager, Treasury is responsible for managing the organization's cash flow, liquidity, banking relationships, funding activities, financial risk management, and treasury operations. This role ensures sufficient liquidity to support business operations while optimizing cash utilization, maintaining strong internal controls, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cash & Liquidity Management

Manage daily cash positioning and monitor cash balances across all bank accounts.

Prepare short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts.

Ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational, capital expenditure, debt servicing, and investment requirements.

Optimize working capital and cash utilization across the group.

2. Treasury Operations

Oversee daily treasury activities including:

Supplier payments

Payroll funding

Tax payments

Intercompany funding

Bank transfers

Foreign currency settlements

Ensure all treasury transactions are processed accurately and within approved timelines.

Monitor treasury KPIs and service levels.

3. Banking Relationship Management

Manage relationships with local and international banking partners.

Negotiate banking facilities, fees, transaction charges, and deposit rates.

Coordinate opening and closure of bank accounts.

Manage bank mandates, authorized signatories, internet banking administration, and user access controls.

Review banking services and recommend improvements.

4. Funding & Financing

Manage short-term and long-term borrowing requirements.

Coordinate loan drawdowns and repayments.

Monitor debt maturity profiles and financing obligations.

Evaluate financing options and support fundraising activities.

Prepare treasury papers for financing approvals.

5. Foreign Exchange & Financial Risk Management

Monitor foreign exchange exposures.

Execute approved FX hedging strategies.

Monitor interest rate and liquidity risks.

Ensure compliance with Treasury Policy and Risk Management Framework.

Prepare treasury risk reports for management.

6. Treasury Systems & Process Improvement

Lead treasury process automation initiatives.

Improve payment processes and bank reconciliation efficiency.

Support implementation and enhancement of Treasury Management Systems (TMS), ERP (e.g., Oracle), SWIFT connectivity, host-to-host banking, and payment automation.

Standardize treasury procedures across business units.

7. Governance, Compliance & Internal Controls

Ensure compliance with internal policies, banking regulations, tax requirements, and statutory obligations.

Maintain effective segregation of duties and treasury controls.

Support internal and external audits.

Review treasury SOPs and recommend control enhancements.

Ensure proper documentation of treasury transactions.

8. Reporting

Prepare and present treasury reports including:

Daily cash position

Weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts

Liquidity reports

Debt and financing reports

FX exposure reports

Interest income and borrowing cost analysis

Treasury KPI dashboard

Board and management treasury papers

9. Team Leadership

Lead, coach, and develop treasury team members.

Allocate workload and monitor performance.

Establish KPIs and development plans.

Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.
