Position: AutoCAD Designer & Cost Management Executive

Department: Engineering / Design & Costing Location: Manufacturing Unit Reporting To: Engineering Manager / Production Head

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented AutoCAD Designer & Cost Management Executive who can prepare accurate engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), manufacturing layouts, and estimate product costing for sheet metal and IT hardware products. The candidate should coordinate with Production, Purchase, Stores, and Sales departments to ensure accurate designs and cost optimization.

Key ResponsibilitiesAutoCAD Design

Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD.

Develop detailed fabrication drawings for:

Computer Cabinets

Server Chassis

Kiosks

Racks

Sheet Metal Components

Workstations

Prepare Assembly Drawings and Exploded Views.

Modify drawings as per Engineering Change Requests (ECR).

Maintain drawing revision history.

Generate DXF files for Laser Cutting Machines.

Coordinate with Production for design improvements.

Prepare nesting layouts wherever required.

Maintain proper documentation of engineering drawings.

Cost Management

Prepare product costing based on manufacturing processes.

Calculate raw material consumption.

Estimate:

Sheet Metal Cost

Powder Coating Cost

Laser Cutting Cost

Bending Cost

Welding Cost

Assembly Cost

Packaging Cost

Prepare BOM (Bill of Material).

Analyze manufacturing cost variations.

Suggest cost reduction opportunities.

Compare estimated cost with actual production cost.

Monitor material wastage.

Prepare profitability analysis.

Support quotation preparation for Sales Department.

Update costing whenever material prices change.

Coordination

Coordinate with Production Department.

Coordinate with Purchase Department for material specifications.

Coordinate with QA Department regarding drawing standards.

Support Stores for BOM verification.

Coordinate with Vendors regarding drawing clarification.

Required Skills

AutoCAD (2D) – Mandatory

Good knowledge of Sheet Metal Fabrication

Knowledge of Laser Cutting Process

Knowledge of CNC Bending

Understanding of Welding Processes

Knowledge of Powder Coating

Strong understanding of Manufacturing Drawings

BOM Preparation

MS Excel (Advanced)

Experience in Sheet Metal Fabrication or IT Hardware Manufacturing preferred.
