The Role
Based at the Safran Electrical & Power Centre of Excellence in Pitstone you will work within the Systems Engineering team to provide Control Systems expertise for the definition, design and development of Control Systems Architecture for High-speed rotating electrical machines.
Working within a flexible engineering environment you will become part of a team of highly motivated, skilled and experienced individuals whose primary activities relate to electrical power generation and propulsion, and include:
Control System requirement definition, working with the customer in a team context
Systems Requirement management and compliance analysis
Responsible for Control Systems related technical decisions and providing the Systems interface to the customer
Participation in system test rig design, and system testing
Preparation of documentation with the end goal of system qualification and aircraft certification
Generation of Project plans and Monthly Execution Plans (MEP) to ensure the Programme Engineering budget is met
Supporting new business growth in promoting the company's capability to customers, in investigating possible opportunities and in preparation of responses to customer Requests for Proposal
Job Requirements
We are looking for candidates with a range of skills and experience, but we're also keen to help people grow and develop in this role. If you have some or all of the following, we'd love to hear from you:
Academically qualified to degree level or equivalent ideally in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
Experience of the development of Control Systems Architecture ideally from within the Aerospace or Automotive industry or similar safety critical industry, if you have experience of Motor of Generator control this is of particular interest
Experience of requirements capture software, and Windchill for PLM
Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience of modelling of systems in Matlab/Simulink/Speedgoat
Technical report writing ability
Experience to exposure to VHDL would be beneficial
PID Controller experience
Understanding of Validation and Verification processes and HIL (Hardware in the loop)
Good self-organisation and communication skills
