Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute multi-year global sourcing roadmaps for direct materials, covering OEM, non-direct OEM, refurbished, and aftermarket components.

Identify, audit, qualify, and onboard suppliers globally; drive competitive bidding, category strategies, and supplier segmentation to balance cost, quality, and risk.

Lead complex, high-stakes negotiations to secure favorable pricing, terms, service levels, and lead times; structure contracts and long-term agreements.

Establish and enforce component quality, regulatory, and compliance standards; partner with Quality and Engineering to ensure technical fit and traceability.

Create and manage supplier performance scorecards, corrective action plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Forecast material demand with Operations; optimize inventory, lead times, and logistics to support refurbishment throughput and on-time delivery.

Monitor market trends, cost drivers, and supply risks (e.g., component shortages, geopolitical disruptions); implement dual-sourcing and risk mitigation plans.

Collaborate with Engineering on technical drawings and specifications to ensure part compatibility and yield performance in refurbishment processes.

Own sourcing KPIs including cost savings, PPV, on-time delivery, quality yields, and supplier compliance; report performance to senior leadership.

Mentor and guide sourcing team members and cross-functional partners in best practices, negotiation, and supplier relationship management.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Electronics Engineering, or Business.

Typically 5+ years of sourcing experience, with specific expertise in mobile devices, device refurbishing, and the Asian supply base.

Demonstrated success leading global sourcing initiatives and managing supplier relationships across multiple regions.

Experience negotiating complex contracts in regulated or high-pressure manufacturing environments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong category strategy development, cost analysis, and total cost of ownership optimization.

Proficiency in evaluating technical drawings and engineering specifications to validate component suitability.

Expert negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.

Data-driven decision-making; ability to analyze market intelligence, price trends, and risk factors.

Deep understanding of quality systems, supplier audits, compliance, and traceability requirements.

Cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management; effective communication with executives and technical teams.

Language: Professional fluency in English required; Mandarin Chinese and Vietnamese highly preferred for direct negotiations in Asia.
