Senior Data Center Operations Engineer

Business Unit Technology Engineering Group (TEG) is responsible for supporting the company and its business groups on technology and operational platforms, as well as the construction and operation of R&D management and data centers, TEG provides users with a full range of customer services. As the operator of the largest networking, devices, and data center in Asia,TEG also leads the Tencent Technology Committee in strengthening infrastructure R&D through internal and distributed open source collaboration, constructing new platforms and supporting business innovation.

What the Role Entails

1）Contribute to Tencent’s overseas data center strategy in line with company and departmental objectives; oversee local management of overseas data centers, including site selection, construction, and operations to ensure quality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and security.

2）Manage IT operations for overseas data centers, including IT maintenance, relocation, decommissioning, warehousing, asset management, operational safety, and service management, while building and maintaining relevant processes and documentation; support IDC-related compliance certifications.

3）Manage relationships with overseas data center and network operators, building strong partnerships to ensure secure and reliable operations.

4）Oversee and evaluate on-site operations outsourcing partners and teams.

5）Drive the development of the overseas IDC ecosystem.

Who We Look For

1）Bachelor’s degree or above, with 5+ years of experience in data center infrastructure or networking.

2）Familiar with IDC infrastructure architecture and mainstream infrastructure systems/equipment; knowledge of overseas operator internal operation mechanisms. CDCP certification and familiarity with overseas IDC or network ecosystem resources are a plus.

3）Knowledge of mainstream data center servers and networking equipment; understanding of IT hardware fundamentals, internet interconnection technologies, and overseas operator collaboration models. Broad relevant experience preferred.

4）Strong operational service management skills, with knowledge of mainstream IT management frameworks. ITIL certification preferred.

5）Strong communication, project management, and coordination skills, with hands-on experience in overseas IDC project management. PMP certification preferred.

6）Steady and composed personality, meticulous yet bold in execution; strong sense of responsibility, high learning agility, and strong team spirit.

7）Able to travel overseas as required for project construction or operational needs; must demonstrate strong stress resilience and self-adjustment ability.
