As a Civil CAD Drafter/Technician, you will support engineers and designers in delivering high-quality civil infrastructure projects through accurate and detailed technical drawings. Working closely with engineers, architects, and senior CAD technicians, you will translate design concepts and technical instructions into clear, precise documentation. Your work will help ensure civil design deliverables meet relevant drafting standards and contribute to the successful delivery of projects across roads, drainage, rail, airports, and other infrastructure sectors.

The Opportunity

Collaborate with engineers and senior CAD technicians to deliver accurate, high-quality civil drafting and design documentation.

Prepare detailed sketches, plans, charts, and technical drawings for civil infrastructure projects, including drainage, roads, rail, airports, and related developments.

Interpret technical instructions, engineering concepts, and design requirements to produce clear and accurate documentation.

Apply relevant drafting standards and project requirements to ensure drawings are consistent, precise, and compliant.

Collect and compile data to support catchment and drainage analyses and contribute to the effective delivery of civil engineering projects.

Is this role right for you?

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Proficiency in drafting software, preferably AutoCAD, with the ability to produce accurate technical drawings.

Knowledge of civil infrastructure design, with experience or an interest in highways, rail, drainage, airports, or related fields.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

A motivated, team-oriented approach with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The role is based within our stunning, award-winning, architecturally designed offices in the heart of the Perth CBD housed within WS2. Spanning three levels, it is a bright open plan working environment with a lower social break-out space, kitchen, winter garden and luxury end-of-trip facilities, through to the top level’s innovative ‘Excellence Nest’, makerspace and acoustics lab.

You will be joining a growing team of highly skilled and engaged engineers, working in a Total Design, multi-disciplinary environment, collaborating with a broad range of teams and specialists, providing you the opportunity to develop and enhance your technical skills across the full breadth of civil engineering disciplines.
