Embedded Linux Software Engineer

About the Role

You will serve as a key technical leader in developing sophisticated, embedded software solutions for ADI's most challenging products. This senior position requires deep technical expertise, proven leadership abilities, and the capacity to influence technical strategy across teams. You'll work on complex/critical projects as a key contributor and technical resource, potentially leading teams without formal management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead architecture and design of complex embedded software systems

Drive technical innovation and best practices across teams

Develop solutions to complex technical problems

Provide technical leadership on strategic projects

Mentor and develop technical talent within the organization

Influence cross-functional technical decisions

Drive system-level architecture improvements

Collaborate with business units to align technical solutions with market needs

Must Have Skills

Embedded Systems Architecture : Advanced expertise in designing sophisticated embedded software architectures

Hardware-Software Integration : Deep understanding of hardware-software interfaces and integration challenges

SoC Development : Extensive experience with System-on-Chip development and optimization

Performance Optimization : Expert ability to analyze and optimize complex embedded systems

Technical Leadership : Proven capability to guide architectural decisions and technical direction

Cross-Functional Influence : Ability to influence decisions across organizational boundaries

Mentoring : Track record of developing technical talent and elevating team capabilities

SW Licensing : Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of various software licensing models, including open-source, proprietary, and hybrid licenses.

CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated build and test processes, and integration with version control systems.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred; PhD a plus

7+ years of relevant experience in embedded software development

Proven track record of technical leadership

Experience with complex system architecture

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $131,285 to $190,108.

Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location , experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.

This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
