Finance & Operations Lead

About the Role

Fairground is seeking a curious, detail-oriented Finance & Operations Specialist who thrives on solving diverse problems and is eager to take increasing ownership over critical systems and projects. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring our financial and operational processes function seamlessly, enabling the company to operate efficiently and scale effectively.

What You'll Do

Own day-to-day finance and operations workflows - including expense tracking, invoice management, and reporting - with precision and consistency, proactively ensuring nothing is missed and deadlines are met without reminders.

Maintain and improve internal processes and documentation, safeguarding accuracy and thoroughness in all operational records.

Independently drive operational tasks, such as data tracking, coordinating with vendors, and addressing internal requests, seeing each task through to completion.

Evaluate existing workflows to spot gaps or inefficiencies, and proactively propose and implement solutions to streamline operations.

Oversee the integrity and accuracy of financial and operational data across spreadsheets and internal tools, serving as the primary owner of this information.

Lead smaller projects from planning through execution as an individual contributor, being accountable for their timeliness, quality, and intended outcomes.

Collaborate cross-functionally with team members across the organization, taking personal ownership for your contributions to shared challenges.

What We're Looking For

MBA from Tier 1/2 institute or CA/CIMA

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in finance and operations roles.

Meticulous attention to detail and strong skills working with numbers, spreadsheets, and structured data.

Effective communicator with proven ability to work cross-functionally with finance, operations, and other teams.

Prior hands-on exposure to finance or operations processes (such as through internships, articleships, or full-time roles) is a plus.

Comfort with ambiguity and a proactive attitude toward learning new tools and systems on the job.
