As a Payroll Officer based in Melbourne, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately, compliantly, and on time. Your expertise will help maintain employee trust, support operational excellence, and contribute to a positive employee experience across our APAC workforce.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with HR, Finance and business stakeholders in a collaborative environment where continuous improvement is encouraged.
What You’ll Do
Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on schedule for our 150 Australian Salaried employees.
Work in partnership with our outsourced payroll providers to assist with the monthly payroll review for 200 employees in Vietnam and 40 in NZ.
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and company policies.
Manage payroll-related queries, providing timely and professional support to employees and managers.
Coordinate payroll activities including new starters, terminations, leave management, and payroll adjustments.
Prepare payroll reporting, reconciliations, and support month-end activities.
Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiency.
What You Bring
4–5+ years' experience in a Payroll Officer or similar payroll-focused role.
Strong experience managing Australian payroll end-to-end.
Solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and compliance obligations.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Experience working with outsourced payroll providers would be advantageous.
Experience with payroll systems such as ELMO, Datacom, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) would be advantageous.
A high level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential employee information.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
