How will I help?

This is a high-impact opportunity to join Westpac's Home Lending Delivery Unit as Senior Manager, Performance Modelling.

In this role, you will help manage the balance sheet performance of the Mortgage portfolio by delivering quality, data-driven insights that support better decisions, stronger forecasting and improved portfolio outcomes.

You will develop, own and uplift mortgage performance models, forecasting and scenario analysis capabilities that project mortgage growth, volume and balance sheet outcomes.

Working closely with Executive Leadership, Home Lending Delivery Unit leaders and partners across Finance, Distribution, Product, Strategy and Risk, you will translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that support growth across priority segments and channels.

Your Responsibilities

Deliver actionable insights and forecasts to Executive Leadership and Home Lending Delivery Unit leaders.

Provide projections and forecasting of balance sheet outcomes, including key growth drivers and momentum.

Develop, own and maintain mortgage performance models, forecasting frameworks, UDAs, scenario analysis and sensitivity modelling capability.

Identify priority and opportunity segments, channels and geographies to improve mortgage portfolio growth performance.

Provide scenario and sensitivity modelling for business scenarios such as Federal Budget changes or Home Guarantee Scheme changes.

Act as a subject matter expert on balance sheet momentum, including pipeline performance, channels, segments, geography and external benchmarking.

Develop reporting capabilities with Group data and partners, turning performance data into clear decision support.

Partner with Operations, Distribution and Finance on volume forecasts, targets and performance reporting.

Your Checklist for Success

Strong experience in performance modelling, predictive or financial modelling, forecasting, analytics or portfolio performance management.

Financial services experience, ideally across Home Ownership, Mortgages, Product, Finance, Data Modelling or adjacent banking portfolios.

Advanced spreadsheet capability, including experience working with large Excel models and complex datasets.

Hands-on SQL and Python experience for data analysis is strongly preferred.

Ability to break down complex problems, identify opportunities and convert analysis into practical business recommendations.

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

Ability to work autonomously with time pressure, shifting priorities and a dynamic operating environment.

Degree qualification in quantitative discipline such as data analysis, finance, accounting, economics, mathematics or a related field.

Experience with Tableau or SAS is preferred but not essential.
