The Opportunity |Te kōwhiringa

As a Supervisor, you'll be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing field operations across a range of Three Waters construction, maintenance and renewal projects. Working closely with Project Managers and operational teams, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with quality and client expectations.

You'll play a key role in leading crews, coordinating resources, managing subcontractors, and driving a strong safety culture while maintaining positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise crews delivering water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure works

Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to maximise productivity

Plan and schedule construction activities to meet delivery programmes

Oversee excavation, trenching, pipe installation, testing and commissioning works

Manage project performance, reporting and operational outcomes

Build strong relationships with clients, councils, consultants and stakeholders

Mentor and develop team members, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Champion Zero Harm and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

Proven experience supervising civil construction or Three Waters crews

Strong knowledge of water reticulation, wastewater networks, drainage and underground infrastructure

Demonstrated leadership and people management skills

The ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and contract documents

A strong understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality systems

Full Class 1 Driver Licence

Drain laying qualifications and practical experience

Water reticulation experience

Class 2 licence, WTR endorsements, Confined Space and First Aid certifications are advantageous

Experience working within local authority or Three Waters contracts will be highly regarded
