Job Summary

Langan is seeking an Environmental Practice Lead – Power Sector to join its collaborative national Environmental Compliance practice. This individual will serve a key function in leading and building an existing team of experienced consultants that will bring high quality and timely solutions to this dynamic sector. The services that the successful candidate would be involved in leading include air quality modeling and permitting, site assessment, remediation services, environmental due diligence, and water and wastewater, as well as integrating the environmental services with our existing top-of-class site/civil and geotechnical engineering capabilities. In this role, you will join an industry-leading engineering and environmental consultancy, experiencing and investing in significant growth in power and data center markets. This is an opportunity for an industry leader to inherit a well‑established platform, shape its next phase of growth in the power and data center markets, and in doing so, significantly broaden their own professional horizons.

Job Responsibilities

Apply knowledge, technical expertise, strategic insight, and leadership to elevate our environmental capabilities and visibility within the power sector;

Refinement of power sector market strategy and materials;

Overall responsibility for work product quality, expansion of services, revenue growth, and profitability;

Identification of technical and geographic growth areas, including oncoming trends;

Work closely with Data Centers and Environmental practice leadership to develop growth plans and ensure staff utilization;

Apply entrepreneurial demeanor and participate in Business Development activities by developing new clients for the firm and maintaining relationships with existing clients;

Integration with firm-wide multi-discipline data center team;

Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to Environmental projects. Participate in interviewing and hiring staff; and

Perform complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects.

Qualifications

15+ years of experience in the environmental industry with 5+ years of direct experience in the power sector;

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Science; Master’s degree preferred;

Professional certification/credentials preferred (PE, CHMM, PG, etc.);

In-depth knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations and experience providing strategic development, permitting and operational support;

Strong people, project, and client management skills;

Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills;

Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;

Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and

Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing

Certain US jurisdictions require Langan to include an estimate of salary or hourly ranges. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.

Pay Range

$123,500 - $200,000 USD
