We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Test Engineer to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of our software products.

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for planning and executing testing activities, with a strong focus on manual testing, while also contributing to test automation efforts to support quality and efficiency objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Execute and coordinate testing activities across the software development lifecycle, ensuring product quality and reliability

Design, develop, and maintain test cases, test plans, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements

Perform manual testing of backend services, APIs, and applications, identifying, documenting, and tracking defects

Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated tests where appropriate to improve test coverage and efficiency

Analyze test results, investigate issues, and support troubleshooting activities with development teams

Ensure testing activities are integrated into the software delivery process and support continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, including manual and automated testing activities

Experience testing backend systems and APIs

In-depth experience with tools such as Postman, SoapUI, JMeter

Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, including test design, automation,

validation, and troubleshooting

Practical experience using SQL for data verification and test setup

Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)

Experience with Jira and Xray for test management

Excellent command of Italian and English (spoken and written)

ISTQB Certification or similar is a plus

Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Scrum teams

Strong ownership mindset, proactive attitude, and willingness to actively contribute to day‑to‑day testing activities

Location Requirement:

Please note that a fully remote work policy is not offered for this role

Candidates should be prepared to relocate to Canton Ticino/Switzerland or towns near the Swiss-Italian border

Work-from-home days may be possible according to the Client's policy
