About the role

The Indigenous Relations & Business Development Specialist has direct responsibility for partnership management and establishing new mutually beneficial relationships, including participating in cultural and community events, collaborating with internal stakeholders for business development opportunities and maintaining department protocol. This role reports to the Vice President of Sales

Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner

Establish and maintain a comprehensive client base, including networking, and in person community engagement

Conduct contractual negotiations with perspective and established partners

Work with Clean Harbors leadership to develop market strategies, and business goals and objectives for each district

Conduct seminars, webinars, lunch and learns, and customer visits to promote community and Clean Harbors value

Participating in business development meetings and regional Sales meetings to maximize communication and business excellence

Collaboration across all Clean Harbors services lines and districts

Utilize CRM system to document company/contact information and business opportunities

Administration duties include but are not limited to, AP/AR data collection, governing partner reporting requirements, supporting Community Member based Initiatives, Clean Harbors ERG committees etc.

Prepare detailed activity reports; to be communicated regularly

5 years of successful partnership management or other certificate in Indigenous studies ideal.

Hands-on, immersed into the details, roll up your sleeves, collaborative

Proactive, community oriented, experience working with long-term partners

Ability to present subject matter in person or virtually

Good industry and company knowledge, strong business development and negotiation skills

Good communication, leadership and team building, operational improvements and delivery

Collaborative team player, superior leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to influence others in matrix organization

Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communications skills;

Industry professional, versed in diplomacy and ability to interact with various personality types

Contract, Proposal and document management experience

Flexible and adaptive to changing environment;

Strong work ethic with an ability to work independently and in a team environment;

Actively participates in community associations and related social functions;

Ability to travel 25% including overnights.
