(Greenfield Manufacturing Plant Development)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Factory Construction & Operations Manager to lead the planning, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness of a new manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will possess strong expertise in factory construction, manufacturing process requirements, facility management, utility systems, EHS compliance, and plant operational excellence.
The role will ensure successful delivery of greenfield and brownfield projects from feasibility study through mass production (SOP), while establishing a world-class manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
Factory Construction & Project Management
Lead end-to-end factory construction projects including greenfield and expansion projects.
Develop project master plans, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
Coordinate architects, consultants, contractors, government authorities, and utility providers.
Monitor construction progress, quality, cost, and schedule adherence.
Manage facility handover and project closeout activities.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, statutory regulations, and industrial standards.
Manufacturing Facility Planning
Define factory layout based on manufacturing process flow and future expansion plans.
Plan production areas, warehouse, quality labs, engineering centers, utility regions, and office spaces.
Develop material flow concepts using Lean Manufacturing principles.
Optimize space utilization and operational efficiency.
Support manufacturing equipment installation and commissioning.
Facility & Utility Management
Establish utility infrastructure including:
Electrical HV/LV systems
Compressed air systems
Cooling water systems
HVAC systems
Industrial gases
Wastewater treatment plants
Fire protection systems
Building Management Systems (BMS)
Ensure facility reliability and preventive maintenance systems are in place.
EHS & Compliance
Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations.
Obtain statutory approvals and operating licenses.
Implement ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and IATF16949 readiness programs.
Lead risk assessments and emergency preparedness planning.
Team Leadership
Build and lead cross-functional project teams.
Develop facility, maintenance, manufacturing engineering and operation teams.
Manage contractors, consultants and external service providers.
Drive continuous improvement culture.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field.
Master's degree preferred.
Experience
10–15+ years in manufacturing operations and industrial project management.
Minimum 5 years of factory construction or greenfield project experience.
Proven track record of delivering manufacturing facilities from concept to production.
Experience with automotive, electronics, industrial products, or component manufacturing.
