About the role

Voy is looking for an exceptional Legal Counsel to own litigation, regulatory, and employment matters across a rapidly scaling health-tech business. You'll join a lean, high-autonomy legal function embedded in a company genuinely changing healthcare outcomes, operating across weight management, hormonal health, and hair loss at scale in the UK, Brazil, and Germany.

This role sits at the intersection of law and operational complexity: you'll partner with Leadership, Clinical, Pharmacy, Product, and People teams to manage disputes, navigate pharmaceutical and medical device regulation, and provide practical employment law support - all in an environment that actively encourages using technology and AI to deliver legal solutions at scale.

What you'll do

Own the company's disputes strategy end-to-end, managing pre-action correspondence, litigation, negotiation, and settlement, while controlling external counsel costs and ensuring proportionate handling.

Lead responses to regulatory investigations, enforcement activity, and information requests, coordinating internal stakeholders and evidence preservation.

Advise on the regulatory landscape for medicinal products and medical devices, including import requests, MA licensing, pharmacovigilance, and promotional/advertising review.

Support regulatory risk assessment for new products, services, and markets, working closely with Quality, Clinical, and Ops on safety reporting, complaints handling, and recalls.

Provide practical employment law advice across the full employee lifecycle, from contracts and policies through to disciplinary, grievance, exits, and restructures.

Manage employment disputes including ACAS early conciliation and Employment Tribunal matters, coordinating external employment counsel where needed.

Develop dispute playbooks, escalation pathways, and document retention/e-discovery readiness to build institutional resilience.

Deliver in-house legal training and build self-serve guidance that enables the business to move quickly without unnecessary legal bottlenecks.

Who you are

Qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales (or equivalent common law jurisdiction), with 2+ years of relevant contentious and/or regulatory experience.

Hands-on experience advising on life sciences regulation, pharmaceuticals and/or medical devices, ideally from a leading firm or in-house in a regulated sector.

Strong employment law capability, whether as a core pillar of your practice or through significant in-house exposure.

An excellent drafter, confident producing high-stakes correspondence, pleadings, instructions, and regulator-facing submissions.

Pragmatic and commercially minded: you find the right answer for the business, not just the legally safe one, and you stay calm when things escalate.

A natural stakeholder manager, able to build trust quickly across clinical, operational, and commercial teams, and influence without authority.

Genuinely interested in using technology and AI to make legal functions operate at scale, this isn't a nice-to-have, it's part of how we work.

Comfortable with ambiguity and pace; you take ownership, set your own direction, and don't need a lot of hand-holding to deliver.
