About the Opportunity:

We are looking for a special kind of person – a St Vincent’s kind of person. Someone who puts compassion, connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do (heartprint model).

As a Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant (also known as Diversional therapist / Recreational Office), you will work under Leisure & lifestyle coordinator to promote, maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of residents. You will be assisting team in the development of a range of programs to suit the individual needs and preferences of residents within households. Things that work for us:

Cert IV Leisure and Health, Diploma of Leisure & Health OR Bachelor of Health Science (Recreational Therapy). Other relevant certificate in aged care may be acceptable.

Available for casual position

Available to work on weekends

Experience in an aged care home, implementing Leisure & Lifestyle programs including working with people with dementia

Good team work

Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

Understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities

Experience with Autumn Care (or similar software) with ability to maintain excellent records

NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card) or Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (less than 6 months old)
