This role is part of Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE), supporting Blue Origin’s mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. The team fosters innovation and drives engineering workflows of the future, shared solutions and standards, simplicity and lower costs, and manufacturable design.
As part of a the avionics team, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers to deliver avionics hardware subsystem elements, including common circuit blocks and development kits. As part of this team, you will design, develop, and verify high-performance avionics hardware for incorporation in various flight vehicles. Together with programs' technical leads you will drive requirements definition, modeling, analysis, design, fabrication, and test of flight and power management components and subsystems elements. Your responsibilities will encompass electronic requirements, architecture concepts, detailed design, development, and test.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field
10+ proven years experience in the design of complex hardware
Skilled Altium user
One or more of the following:
High-speed digital, analog, and/or mixed-signal circuit design, build, and troubleshooting, with a strong understanding of EE principles
Circuit analysis and simulation, such as worst-case circuit analysis, signal integrity analysis, and logic or Spice simulation
Experience in grounding and general board layout principles, including EMI/EMC tradeoffs
Battery-based power systems, including power management, power switching, charging, and battery safety
Computer command and I/O control for sophisticated industrial systems or vehicles
RF communication subsystem and/or component design, with a strong background in RF principles
Design of Data Acquisition Systems and familiarity with a variety of sensor technologies
Background developing sophisticated circuit cards, consumer electronics, wireless devices, or other advanced electronic commercial or aerospace products
Ability to earn trust and maintain positive and professional relationships
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or related subject areas.
15+ years proven experience in design, development, integration, test, and operation of Avionics systems or vehicles
Base Pay Range for: WA applicants is $156,802.00 - $219,522.45

Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

Compensation
This Other role pays $157k-$220k/yr. Within typical range for other roles in United States.
